Halloween in Our Street

Wow! What a turn out! We hosted Halloween in our street again this year and boy was it fun. Thanks to everyone who came along. And a special thank you to our friends and family who helped make it special for all our little guests. See you again next year!

Some of the treats we packaged up to give away on the night … pumpkins and witches broom sticks (both from Martha Stewart Crafts) were filled with candy. We also prepared a tone of ghost lolly pops, poked them into apples and finished them off with a ‘BOO!’ sticker. Another fun packaging idea was our  cello bags sealed with bat toy rings. They turned out great.

Here’s some fun pictures of our Trick or Treaters. The costumes were great this year. Some of the mums had been creative with items that they had just found at home. They were truly the best outfits!

Some scary, but friendly party guests! Here’s a great idea – one of the neighbours attached loads of doughnuts to a very LONG piece of string. Everyone had to line up and take turns catching a doughnut with their mouth. The kids absolutely loved it!

Spooky juice (green cordial) and wobbly jelly shots! We attached little ants to the cups to make them fun.

We spent two weeks preparing treats and gift bags for all our Trick or Treaters. Love to Celebrate provided us with all our Halloween decorations. They had a fantastic selection of decorations, as well as some great zip-lock treat bags (above left – we put fresh popcorn in ours) and a terrific 72-piece jumbo bag of Halloween toys which came in handy.

Glitter spiders climbed the front of this house and we hung spooky chandeliers and spider web borders across the beams (all from Love to Celebrate). We also found some really fun eye ball balloons too at Born to Party, which we put in the front garden bed.

I was lucky enough to get an invite to this amazing halloween party. It’s great to see more kids getting into the spirit of trick or treating in Australia. Not to mention parents too! I may be a grown up, but even I had to pinch a broomstick bag and coffin sweetie box. Never have I seen such gorgeous looking spook bags. Mums and dads take note – Jen’s set the bar a lot higher for us all now!
