A basket full of ideas

Here’s some creative and inexpensive, Easter basket alternatives that we created at LMNOP this week. Get creative and start searching for interesting bits and pieces, that will make your Easter gift this year, one to remember.

Perhaps you’ll be lucky and will find a fallen nest in your backyard, like we did last weekend. This delicate, sweet nest was just big enough to hold a lifelike egg and a tiny bird.

You can purchase so many different types of inexpensive containers, like the ones we found above. Little tin buckets, filled with vintage paper grass (we found ours at Tinsel Trading Company) hold just the right amount of chocolate eggs for a toddler. The pastel green Easter basket shown on the right, is available in an assortment of pretty colours and holds plenty of small toys and edible treats.

Take an empty egg carton, and fill it with vintage paper grass and some pretty jelly beans. Be creative and give some thought to what goes into your Easter gift. Children notice little details, like this precious hand made bunny shown above. MiChiMa’s Rima the Rabbit looks so surprised and delighted to come across these fanciful treats – don’t you think?

And last but not least, a clever idea we saw on The Martha Stewart Show last week. Wheat grass laid inside a basket makes a beautiful Easter arrangement. A word of warning though. Don’t be disappointed if your goodies sink between the blades of grass. This idea is best suited to use as a table centre piece, since the grass seems to only support light items, such as blown eggs. We found our wheat grass trays in Sydney, at Bondi Wheatgrass.
