Kamaroi Magic
Apple Peeling at Kamaroi Fair.
Kamaroi Rudolf Steiner School held their annual fair this weekend and boy was it amazing! The Kamaroi Fair has grown in to a major community event which attracts thousands of visitors and involves the school’s children, parents, teachers and friends. Each year the school’s community creates a magical festival for children and adults to wander.
Left: Parents and teachers worked together to make chalkboard signs for each stall. Middle: Mini Golf was a popular activity on the day. Right: Fresh coconuts were the prize at The Coconut Shy.
The Kamaroi students, teachers and parents spend months preparing for this event. Their combined creative talents make this fair the most vibrant and enjoyable school fundraising event in Sydney each year. Hand drawn chalkboard signs are displayed at every stall and activity. Handcrafted prizes are handed out to children, and small tokens are used in place of money at all of the activities.
A hand painted sign at the Pony Rides activity.
The beautiful May Queen shared enchanting stories in the playground and there were regular puppet shows for the kids to enjoy. Some of the fantastic activities were: Face painting, a cake stall, craft, t-shirt dyeing, a flying fox, the Mouse House game, pony rides, a treasure hunt, the Beam Bash and mini golf. There was so many things to do, you could easily have stayed all day.
Be inspired to conceive something as festive and creative at your own child’s school. It’s fun and rewarding to create magic for our kids don’t you think?
The always popular, Mouse House game. Far right: Handmade prizes. We loved the cheese lace boards and little mouse noses.
