LMNOP: How many children do you have, and how old are they?
I have one who has just turned 3.

LMNOP: Name an activity you love to do with Luella?
Our favourite activity is to go for breakfast in a local cafe where Luella always has ‘googy-eggs’ (which is scrambled eggs for the non-Australians) and we play a dominos or do a puzzle. I’ve done this with her for as long as she’s been able to sit in a high chair, and so she’s grown to love a good breakfast out like I do.

LMNOP: When and where are you happiest?
Having a morning cuddle, giggling with Luella and our pet cat Pom Pom.

LMNOP: What’s your favorite family vacation spot?
With a new business and 3 year old, the overseas trips are off the agenda for the time being, so the weekend trip has become the new holiday of choice. We usually pick spots that are within 2 hours drive from Sydney, a recent favorite was a little place called Dickenbusch in Patonga which is owned by the people behind Koskela. Beautiful – quiet with a great huge dining table and family sized entertainers’ kitchen, fishing spots near by and all just an hour or so out of Sydney.

LMNOP: How are you most like your own mother?
I would like to think that I’ve inherited her friendly, open nature and optimistic outlook.

LMNOP: The best piece of advice your mother ever gave you?
People don’t change …

LMNOP: Name three things your daughter has taught you?
– That style and taste is not always genetic (or at least needs to be learned – can someone tell me when the Dora The Explorer phase is over?).
– That there is nothing better than the overwhelming feeling of loving something/someone more than anything.
– That patience is a definite virtue.

LMNOP: Complete this sentence. I hope my child inherits my …
… down to earth nature and ability to have a laugh at my own expense.

I have a baby son who is four and a half months old.

I love taking him out for walks around the neighborhood and into the city. He looks at the world around him with such curiosity and amazement, and it makes me wish we could see things that way all the time too.

I am the happiest when I am with my son and husband, on a lazy sunny afternoon in no place in particular.

My favorite family vacation spot is Taiwan where all our extended relatives are.

LMNOP: How are you most like your own mother?
Like my mother, I like to theorize on how things become the way they are. Sometimes our theories are quite far-fetched but we’re always convinced they’re right.

LMNOP: The best piece of advice your mother ever gave you?
The best piece of advice from my mother: always keep a neat and tidy house!

LMNOP: Name three things your son has taught you?
From my little son, I have learned how precious eight hours of uninterrupted sleep can be, how there’s nothing more important than spending time with family, and that a big toothless smile can make all worries go away.
