![]()
LEGO lovers are in for a real surprise when they enter the MCA’s large-scale exhibition of works by Danish-Icelandic artist, Olafur Eliasson. The exhibition entitled Take your time: Olafur Eliasson, is a not to be missed, psychedelic lesson in shapes and colour.

Take a visual journey as you move from light-filled open spaces through immersive, built structures. All thirty of Eliasson’s works from 1993 to the present encompass sculpture, installation, photography, and a model room filled with diverse objects.

Eliasson promotes communal participation and invites young and old to take part in the creation of a vast white LEGO metropolis, entitled The cubic structural evolution project. When you enter the space you’ll marvel at everything from city skylines to skulls, landscapes and animals – all made by visitors to the exhibition.
You and your kids will be inspired to sit down and contribute to the constantly evolving work of collaborative art. Each week the work is built up, added to, pulled down and re-built again with the thousands of white LEGO pieces provided.

Other works experiment with light and shadow, transparency and reflection, through the use of mirrors and glass as well as light projections. A visit to Take your time is truly a great way to introduce children to these diverse concepts. Don’t miss it! For more information visit the MCA’s website.
