Young Angus has Asperger’s Syndrome – a form of high-functioning autism – believed to have affected some of the most brilliant and creative minds in history, like Mozart and Einstein.

Autism is a complex neurological condition which severely impacts communication, behaviour and social relationships. It affects the most simple, everyday activities most people take for granted.

This year, more kids will be diagnosed with autism than with AIDS, diabetes, and cancer combined. It is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the world, affecting close to 70-million people.

To focus attention on this ‘global epidemic’, the United Nations has deemed April 2 World Autism Awareness Day, urging information sharing about warning signs and the need for early intervention.
