Day 2 of our coverage of QPAC’s Out of the Box Festival 2010: Master kite-maker Tony Rice instructed a room full of lively kids on how to design, build, decorate and fly a kite at his Flight Deck Workshop.

Once completed, students got to fly their aerial artworks from QPAC’s rooftop terrace by running up and down the ‘runway’. Tony’s love for creating colourful kites is infectious and we guarantee you’ll leave his workshop kite enthusiasts, just like we did.

Bravo to the amazing child cast of Pirates! This highly skilled crew of performers (aged from 10 to 17 years old) put on a superb show that had us sitting on the edge of our seats. Dynamic, colourful and filled with humour – our favourite act by far!

Tutti Frutti’s Penny Lowther and Maryke del Castillo (shown above) entertained us while we waited for our turn to enter Amococo. This charming mobile Flea Circus is just one of the many roving entertainment units you’ll see when you visit the Cultural Centre precinct.
