The Pink & Blue Project

The Pink & Blue Project by JeongMee Yoon. (2005–on-going). Photos: Courtesy of JeongMee Yoon.
Korean born photographer, JeongMee Yoon’s photographic thesis was inspired by his five-year-old daughter’s love of all things pink. The Pink & Blue Project explores the trends in cultural preferences, the differences in tastes between boys and girls and among other things, the relationship between gender and modern consumerism.

Yoon begins each photographic session by arranging the child’s belongings himself, creating a ‘personalised set’ made up of larger items at the back and smaller articles spread and displayed at the front. His fascination with the accumulation of ‘things’ by children is extraordinary. Visit his website to see more of his amazing images and artworks.
