Seventeenth century Amsterdam canal houses seem a long way from a modern kid’s bedroom. But that’s exactly what inspired designer Marie-Louise Froot Kormelink from Kast van een Huis. She’s created these fabulous multi-functional storage units that make children feel like they’re living in Lilliput.

Available at Tulp Kids, they come in two sizes and a range of colours and gable styles – just like the real canal houses that line Amsterdam’s waterways. They’re adjustable and modular too, so you can use them for whatever you want, from wardrobes to toy storage.
