Crafty Connectors

Look what's possible with makedo!

You can clutter your house with bespoke toys that do just one thing. Or, you can grab a handful of materials, like fabric, toilet rolls and cardboard boxes and let your imaginations – and a handy connector system called makedo – create an amazing world of play.

Makedo FreePlay kits.

That’s the philosophy behind the award-winning makedo. Founder, industrial designer Paul Justin, calls it “a construction system with a conscience”, because it allows the upcycling of found materials by providing a simple set of reusable tools to connect and build with.

All the tools for the makedo job: reusable re-clip, lock-hinge and safe-saw.

“My son Ezra has an active imagination for conjuring ideas for us to create together – one day it’s a castle, the next day it’s a playful dog,” he says.

Check out how makedo works here – it’s pretty simple. You can choose from two different makedo products. FreePlay kits give you the basic tools to make whatever you want. Or if you want a bit of friendly help, go for the Find&Make kits, which help you put together a robot, or a doll’s house, using stuff from around the house.
