One day, Hank Champion had a big idea. It involved (strangely enough) baby monsters in pajamas and his first doodle ever was of a fun-loving character named Stinky. Champion got to work and conceptualised other monster personalities, but it wasn’t until he started writing poems to describe each doll that the collection of Pajama Monsters truly came to life.

Today, Stinky is one of five Pajama Monsters characters, all handmade by artisans in the USA. Champion personally inspects every monster to make sure their personalities and facial expressions are true to his first prototypes, and that each ones ‘unique oddities are like all of us… very different indeed’.
