Hands-On Happiness

Text by elizabeth bentley

The novel Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia is the perfect environment for curious kids. The name says it all – children are encouraged to play
and learn in six interactive exhibits covering everything from city life to science, nature and weather.

The exhibit zones are masterpieces of open-ended play. City Capers offers up a realistic urban environment for all sorts of absorbing activities, like constructing a building or visiting a doctor. Flight Fantasy lets kids explore the amazing sensations and basics physics of flight, while Wonderland is a chance to slip down the rabbit hole and get lost in a circular maze, run about the Hall of Doors and Mirrors or solve a riddle.

The hardest thing about a day at Please Touch will be prising them away from the fun.

Please Touch Museum is located at: Memorial Hall, Fairmount Park,
4231 Avenue of the Republic, Philadelphia, PA, USA. Phone: 215 581 3181.
