Six Diner Sid
Photographed by ian macpherson
text by benjamin garland

On Aristotle Street there lives a cat with a secret. His name is Sid. But it’s also Scaramouche. And Schwartz, Sooty, Sally, Bob and Mischief. You see, Sid has six different owners, from six different homes, each one convinced he is theirs alone. And the reason behind his carefully cultivated web of deceit? Why, so he can be fed six different dinners of course!
The idea is so simple and strong and Inga Moore’s words and illustrations so delightful that the book can rightly be considered an instant classic. Sid’s every mood is immediately recognisable; his disgust when his ruse is uncovered is hilariously palpable. Of course, he’s grown far too accustomed to his gluttonous lifestyle to give it all up so easily.
Six Dinner Sid is a real treat for book lovers and cat lovers alike. If you’ve ever known a cat before, chances are you have met Sid already.
