Zen on Wheels

text by julie james

Following the arrival of his two tots, Silicon Valley design guru Scot Herbst made the decision to swap computers for karts, and together with wife Amy, set about reinventing the little red wagon. Two years on and the classic children’s toy has been given a new lease of life, thanks to a striking contemporary design which has a distinctly Scandinavian feel.

The Zen Wagon is hand-built and has all the outstanding green credentials one would expect from a Northern European design house, but was conceived in the couple’s studio in Northern California.

The collection of rolling toys also includes a smaller PushPull and Strollkart. Made of sturdy wood, steel and rubber, the toys are built to last, and guaranteed to be much-loved heirloom pieces.
