LMNOP Library: Wildwood

Colin Meloy’s Wildwood keeps popping up on our radar! Seems like everyone is talking about this spellbinding tale full of wonder, danger, and magic – set in the fantasy world of the Impassable Wilderness. Take a look at this short animated video:
Original and fresh, yet steeped in classic fantasy, this is a novel that could only come from the imagination of Meloy, celebrated for his fantastic storytelling as lead singer of the Decemberists.
The dreamy illustrations are provided by Carson Ellis, (Meloy’s wife) an acclaimed artist in her own right. Bookworms will recognise her work from other modern classics including Lemony Snicket’s The Composer is Dead, and The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart.
In the next video below, Colin and Carson discuss Wildwood as they take you behind-the-scenes into Forest Park, a 5,000 acre tract of woods – the setting that served as inspiration for their epic adventure story.
Eager to give this a try at bedtime tonight? Head to the official Wildwood Chronicles website for a FREE download of the first four chapters.
Come back and let us know what you think!
