Field of Joy
The petroleum industry rarely gets a good rap, but in the Norwegian
city of Stavanger, it was the inspiration for an amazing experimental playground, modelled on a gas and oil field in the North Sea.

The Geopark – Stavanger, Norway.
The Geopark is a scale replica of the topography of the Troll field, and is made from recycled materials taken from abandoned fields, offshore bases, equipment suppliers and scrap heaps.
The children’s playground, which was commissioned two years ago, is an authentic and colourful landscape used for activities like skating, climbing, beach volleyball, concerts and dance classes.
An innovative outdoor experience, the Geopark is as wonderfully resourceful as it is entertaining.
The Geopark, is located at Kjerringholm, NO-4001 Stavanger, Norway. hha.no
