Come to the Circus

After graduating from Melbourne’s RMIT in Photography, Camille Nuttall sat back and looked at her portfolio and realised it was full of kids. Her special knack for keeping kids amused and getting the best out of them has helped build her career as one of Australia’s foremost snappers for children. Today, she has a busy schedule shuttling between gigs in advertising, magazine editorial and portraiture.

Her latest work for Tutu du Monde’s upcoming 2012 Spring/Summer collection was shot on location at the Weber Circus in Gosford.

“It was the hottest day of summer,” says Camille. “The aim of the shoot was to make the girls feel like they had run away to the circus and were actively involved in the show.”

The nine lucky young models got to watch the circus while they waited for their turn to be photographed and to get up close to the prancing ponies, performing dogs, jugglers, clowns and acrobats.

And of course, they got to feel like star performers in Tutu’s whimsical, circus-styled collection, featuring their trademark frothy embellished tulle frocks in vintage-inspired hues.
